Garmin Fenix 9 Solar Announced With AMOLED Display and 30-Day Battery
Garmin finally brings AMOLED to its flagship adventure watch without sacrificing battery life.
Garmin has officially unveiled the Fenix 9 Solar, and it addresses the single biggest complaint about the Fenix lineup: the display. For the first time, the Fenix series features a 1.4-inch AMOLED display with an always-on mode.
But here's the kicker — thanks to Garmin's new Power Sapphire solar lens and an ultra-efficient chipset, the Fenix 9 Solar still manages up to 30 days of battery life in smartwatch mode (with solar). That's unprecedented for an AMOLED watch.
Key specs:
- 1.4" AMOLED display with 1,000 nits brightness
- Dual-band GPS + multi-constellation support
- Dive-rated to 100 meters
- Built-in flashlight with red night mode
- Full topo maps with turn-by-turn navigation
- New "Trail Suggest" feature powered by ML
Pricing starts at $899 for the non-solar model and $999 for the Solar edition. Available starting April 1, 2026. This is going to be a very tough competitor for the Apple Watch Ultra 3.
